About The 4 Girls

Get to know the 4 girls behind this site: Aster, Clarissa, Olivia and Paula.

ASTER

My name is Aster and I am one of the four girls, in case you're wondering. Along with my sister, I own a creative company called Seven that specializes in Advertising and PR Communications. I grew up in Uganda; went to kindergarten, primary and secondary school here – you know, the usual. After secondary school, I was fortunate enough to go to the United States where I lived for 5 years – majoring in Communications (with an emphasis in Advertising) and working. I love the Arts/Humanities and I am a big time geek which you might not be able to tell when you first meet me. I am loyal to brands that are loyal to me, and I think DC would never have made it without Superman and Batman. I would love to travel to Spain, particularly Cordoba and Granada (I shall scratch this off once I have achieved it - bucket list type thing). I am the usual happy-go-luck person, hardworking and I believe that we are all capable of doing anything – the typical do-it-yourselfer.

Hope you all end up loving the blog and site, and most of all, we hope you all benefit from it. Stay safe and God bless you.

xoxo

CLARISSA

Hi, I am Clarissa; one of the four girls. I am happily married to ...hmmm let’s call him KSA (Knight in Shining Armour) LOL. I love cooking; I’m a sucker for a great read; I’m one of those people that doesn’t mind being a couch potato because I just I love TV; I like knowing bits and pieces of everything and I can sit at a computer looking for definitions, examples, maps, explanations, articles forever! When it comes to food, I like a bevy of stuff! I have to say my favourite food is whatever I create from scratch in the kitchen; but my classic favourites are pizza, burgers, great fries and more recently (since I started watching my butt) steak salad. My area of expertise is in Finance with a Master’s in Financial Economics. I am currently the overall coordinator for an upcoming non profit organisation. It’s tough and challenging but hey, that’s exactly what I’m looking for – a challenge.

I intend to bring everything financial to the table since I have more than the basic grip on this topic. Since I love cooking, be sure to expect loads of tried and proven recipes. I love living in a spectacular space so interior design will be a definite...and of course, anything and everything!

I am looking forward to having a great time with you, the readers. Do like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our blog.

DON’T MISS OUT!!!!

OLIVIA

Hallo Wie geht’s? Ich Heifse Olivia (Hey, how are you? My name is Olivia in German). I’m learning German at the moment don’t ask me why, I'm not confirming anything but it might have something to do with this German boy that I might maybe perhaps have a crush on!
But when I’m not crushing on geeky cute German boys I just met, I do get round to doing quite a bit of studying because I’m currently spending my time learning to be a kick ass international criminal law expert and I am enjoying every single minute of it. But no, I am not boring and my friends will confirm that I’m usually the first to sign on for a party. I love good food, endless conversations with interesting people and just trying out new experiences. I always say to myself that I will try most anything once and even if I hate it at least I’ll know for sure. Recently I had a whole bunch of sea food for the first time; calamari, squid, prawns et al. My verdict? Give me tilapia or give me nothing! Sea food is not for me.
I’m not the girliest of girls but I have to admit that I do like the colour pink and red and yellow and just bright colours in general because it’s difficult to be sad in a pretty pink or yellow dress, don’t you agree?
I have this mental image of the woman I want to be when I grow up (yes I don’t consider myself to be grown up yet, grownups don’t have my bank balance!). Anyway as I was saying, when I grow up I want to be calm and quietly confident, really knowledgeable about at least one subject, sure of who I am and comfortable with who that person is and just surrounded by healthy happy relationships that I have worked to attain. So that’s why I am so excited to be a part of this blog. It’s a wonderful opportunity for me to share my journey with you, who is probably going through the exact same things as me! So here’s to me and you and that cool, sophisticated woman we’ll both be in just a little while.
xoxo
PAULA

Hello! I’m Paula – the 4 Girls for girls' resident Nutritionist. I am born and bred in East Africa – having spent my life divided between Nairobi and Kampala. I love both cities and I'm so glad I get to call them both home.

I am a self professed foodie, budding baker, and very amateur photographer. I love all things Italian – the accent, the language, the cities, the food, and yes, the men.  A culinary trip around Italy is definitely on my wish list, and on that note, my absolute dream job would be to be a travel writer.

I believe variety is the spice of life and that's what I hope our blog will bring to you... Sugar, spice, and everything nice to help you live a most fabulous life!
